Imagine waking up every morning knowing exactly who you are and who you want to be with these 3 most important questions.

Imagine knowing that your daily actions get you a step closer, even if it’s only 1% closer.

1% closer a day adds up to 365% at the end of the year. And if you can only do half of that, that’s still over 150%!

And yet nowadays, our society makes us feel like we should always be doing something, striving to be the best we can be, and possibly making you feel like a failure if you aren’t reaching the goals others tell you that you should have.

I love to learn, and I believe that improving myself is a daily habit. But I also recognize that sometimes, you just need to take a break, live, love, celebrate, and laugh!

So if your goals are actually making you feel less successful than more, it’s time to stop, take a break, and ask yourself some deep, life-changing questions.

I ask myself these questions daily now. And if my actions aren’t aligning with the answer, I simply choose not to take those actions. Sometimes that means saying no to something or someone. Sometimes that means shocking a society who thinks success means all the places you’ve traveled, all the money in your account, and how many social media followers you have.

Vishen, who created MindValley, has a different perspective on the 3 Most Important Questions, and I respect that. His are amazing and important too. But after a lot of work on myself, I learned the 3 most important questions to ask yourself to make sure your actions are in alignment with you, and nobody else.

1. What do you want?

Do you know what it is you truly want? Sure, you probably have some idea of what needs to get done today. You may even have an idea of what society, parents, friends, or your social circle wants. But do you know what YOU want?

Do you know how you want to feel today? Do you know why you want what you want?

Rita Wilson, in her inspiring TEDx talk, beautifully encapsulates the essence of this introspective journey. She sheds light on the importance of discovering our true desires and pursuing them wholeheartedly, regardless of external pressures. Through her words, she encourages us to connect with our innermost dreams and motivations, finding the courage to forge our own paths.

2. Who do you want to be when you are 80?

This question changed my life. Here I was, struggling and working hard to make ends meet and find my dream of writing fiction romance novels, among many other things.

So…many…priorities.

I thought that’s what I wanted more than anything. I thought it would make everything right, and that all the money in the world would help me to finally get to work from home and make all this money and have this dream life. I would never really have to work again because I was doing something I loved!

Doesn’t that sound like a dream come true?

But this question stopped me. And I realized none of that would fulfill me if I wasn’t fulfilled from within. It’s like someone who is looking for a relationship because they believe it will make them whole.

If you aren’t finding your own fulfillment within, no relationship on the planet can help you.

I knew without a doubt where I wanted to be when I’m 80 and who I wanted to be, and even who I wanted to experience it with.

3. Are your daily actions empowering you to be who you want to be?

Now that you know what you want and who you want to be when you are 80, you have to ask yourself if your daily actions empower you to reach those goals and aspirations.

If you want to publish a book, your daily actions should be to write every day, but asking myself those very important questions made me realize that was no longer who, what, or where I wanted to be.

And for me, yes sometimes that means binge watching Netflix, because I’m enjoying life and remembering that it doesn’t always have to be a serious accomplishment. I’m spending time with my husband, sometimes even making personal sacrifices for my family, because those actions are important to me for who I ultimately want to be when I’m 80.

Sometimes it means that not having a meal plan is okay. And sometimes that means having a piece of cake is better than okay (although I do realize that too much of that is never a good thing and will definitely not get me to who I want to be when I’m 80!)

I also realize the important daily actions to take, and most of them are simple. Gratitude, love, and focusing on abundance instead of lack are all important and healthy attitudes to get me 1% closer to my goals.

So is exercise, stretching, and meditation, even if I only give myself 5 or 10 minutes.

Most people overestimate what they can do in a day, and underestimate what they can do in a month. We overestimate what we can do in a year, and underestimate what we can accomplish in a decade.

I’ve also heard it be said that people overestimate what they can do in a year but underestimate what they can do in three years. Which I prefer, because it really puts things in perspective for me.

To truly understand the impact of your daily actions on becoming the person you aspire to be, it’s essential to ask yourself some thought-provoking domino questions.

These questions will help you peel back the layers and gain deeper insights into your journey of self-discovery. So, let’s dive in and explore the domino effect of self-reflection:

  1. Are Your Doubts and Fears Holding You Back?

Sometimes, our doubts and fears can act as formidable barriers, preventing us from taking the necessary steps towards what we truly want.

Ask yourself: Are your doubts and fears stopping you from moving towards the person you want to be?

Identify the limiting beliefs that may be sabotaging your progress, and challenge them head-on.

Embrace courage and resilience as you dismantle the obstacles that stand in your way.

  1. Do Your Habits Align with Your Authentic Self?

Our habits shape our lives, often molding us into the person we ultimately become.

Take a moment to reflect: Are your current habits leading you towards your authentic self?

Examine both your positive and negative habits. Determine which ones support your growth and align with your desires, and which ones hinder your progress.

Let go of the habits that no longer serve you, and cultivate new ones that reinforce your journey of self-discovery.

  1. Are You Aware of Your Desires and Actions?

Awareness is the cornerstone of personal growth and authenticity.

Without it, we may find ourselves drifting aimlessly, detached from our true desires.

Ask yourself: Are you truly aware of what you want and who you want to be? Are you conscious of the impact your actions have on your journey?

Cultivate mindfulness and self-reflection as you navigate through life, ensuring that every step you take is aligned with your authentic self.

Remember, these domino questions may unveil further inquiries and revelations along the way.

Sometimes, answering the main question requires addressing the subsidiary ones first. Embrace the process, and let the cascade of self-inquiry guide you towards profound self-discovery.

By asking yourself these domino questions, you gain clarity and insight into the intricate connection between your desires, fears, habits, and actions. Each answer becomes a stepping stone, propelling you forward on your path towards embracing your authentic self.

Keep asking, keep reflecting, and keep unraveling the mysteries that lie within.

The domino effect of self-inquiry will pave the way for transformative growth, helping you become the person you’ve always aspired to be.

The 3 Most Important Life Changing Questions to Ask Yourself Every Day

As we reach the end of our journey together, let’s reflect on the three most important questions that have the power to transform your life and lead you to the path of authenticity.

By asking yourself these questions every day, you can unleash the true essence of your authentic self and create a life that aligns with your heart’s deepest desires.

  1. What Do You Truly Want?

Take a moment to connect with your innermost desires. Ask yourself: What do you truly want? Beyond societal expectations and external influences, what ignites a fire within you?

Embrace the power of your dreams and aspirations, for they hold the key to your authentic self. Listen closely to the whispers of your heart, and let your passions guide you towards a life of fulfillment and purpose.

  1. Who Do You Want to Be?

Discovering your authentic self involves defining who you want to be. Ask yourself: Who do you want to be in this world? What qualities and values do you want to embody?

Reflect on the person you aspire to become, and let that vision guide your choices and actions.

Embrace authenticity by aligning your thoughts, words, and deeds with the essence of your true self.

  1. How Can You Serve the Greatest Good?

Authenticity goes beyond self-gratification; it extends to the greater good of all.

Ask yourself: How can you serve the greatest good through your actions? How can you contribute to the betterment of the world around you?

When you align your purpose with the well-being of others, your authentic self thrives, and the ripple effects of your actions create positive change in the lives of those you touch.

These questions were life-changing for me, as they revealed the misalignment between my actions and my true desires.

I realized that I had been expending energy on activities that didn’t serve my authentic self or contribute to my ultimate goals. It was a transformative realization that propelled me to make conscious choices and prioritize what truly matters.

In a society that often discourages self-focus and prioritization, remember that embracing what you want and who you want to be is not an act of selfishness. It’s an act of self-honoring and self-empowerment. By living in alignment with your authentic self, you radiate your unique light, inspiring others to do the same.

Imagine a world where each of us lives the purpose of our heart’s desire, where authenticity flourishes, and where the collective good is elevated. Let us strive together to create that reality—a reality where the pursuit of our authentic selves contributes to the greatest good of all.

So, my fellow soul-seekers, embrace the power of these life-changing questions. Let them guide you on a path of self-discovery, purpose, and authenticity. Unleash your authentic self every day, and witness the transformation that unfolds within and around you.
